چکیده
Keratin is a fibrous and recalcitrant protein found in feathers, nails, horns, hooves, the epidermis of skin. The presence high degree disulfide bonds, hydrogen hydrophobic interactions makes them resistant to mechanical stress are not degraded by common proteases such as trypsin, pepsin, papain. Due slow degradation keratinous protein, accumulation solid wastes from poultry, slaughterhouse, textile, leather industries leads waste problems other environmental health related problems. In this review, efficient biodegradation microorganisms, low-cost, environmentally friendly strategy has been discussed. Keratinases microbial hydrolyze hard keratin. decomposition keratin keratinases maintains original structure final products, including short peptides, amino acids, organic nitrogen which deteriorated when traditional or chemical method implemented. article, role producing bacterial fungal species their attributes elaborated, along with biochemical characteristics keratinases, further, engineering approaches discussed, prospects enhance activity for biotechnological applications.

Biotechnological applications of microbial proteomes.
Advances in proteomic technologies have led to the creation of large-scale proteome databases that can be used to elucidate invaluable information on the dynamics of the metabolic, signaling and regulatory networks and to aid understanding of physiological changes. In particular, proteomics can have practical applications, for example, through the identification of proteins that may be potentia...
متن کاملBiotechnological Applications of Microbial (Per)chlorate Reduction
While the microbial degradation of a chloroxyanion-based herbicide was first observed nearly ninety years ago, only recently have researchers elucidated the underlying mechanisms of perchlorate and chlorate [collectively, (per)chlorate] respiration. Although the obvious application of these metabolisms lies in the bioremediation and attenuation of (per)chlorate in contaminated environments, a d...

متن کاملAn Overview on Microbial Phytase and Its Biotechnological Applications
Phytic acid, the main storage form of phosphorous in plants cannot be digested by monogastric animals and is excreted into environment. This compound also has antinutritional effect due to its negative charge which makes it able to chelate minerals and organic elements like calcium, iron, zinc and amino acids to provoke malnutrition. Alarming increase in eutrophication and cost of supplementati...
متن کاملCooperation in microbial communities and their biotechnological applications
Microbial communities are increasingly utilized in biotechnology. Efficiency and productivity in many of these applications depends on the presence of cooperative interactions between members of the community. Two key processes underlying these interactions are the production of public goods and metabolic cross-feeding, which can be understood in the general framework of ecological and evolutio...
